Buying Emails
Step 1.
Once you are in your Jd Omni account, click on the Settings option and select Email module.
Step 2.
On navigating to the Email section from the Settings menu, the following screen opens up:
Through Jd Omni, you can purchase emails IDs from the two email providers that are displayed. Each of these have their own features that are displayed for each of them.
NOTE: The prices displayed are for each email ID, per month.
NOTE
We have not yet released the Google email provider, and will notify you as soon as we do so.
To proceed with the Directi email provider, perform the following steps:
Step 3.
Click on the Proceed button from the Directi section.
Step 4.
This actions opens up the Book Email Accounts modal as follows:
Step 5.
From the drop-down, select the number of email accounts you intend to purchase:
NOTE
In case you intend to purchase more than 10 email accounts, select the 10+ option from the list. Once selected, you can enter the number of email accounts you want to purchase.
Once the number of email accounts is selected/entered, the yearly payable cost for one email account will be displayed under the Cost Per User heading.
The total yearly payable cost for all required number of email accounts will be displayed under the Total cost per year header.
Step 6.
To proceed with the payment, click on the Purchase Email button. You will then be redirected to the payment page, where you can complete the payment through the available modes of payment.
Step 7.
Select the mode of payment for the transaction.
Step 8.
If Debit/Credit card, fill in your card number, the name on the card, month and year of expiry, and your CVV number.
NOTE
Leave the option checked if you want Jd Omni to store your card details so that you do not have to enter it every time you recharge/pay bills. All details except CVV number will be stored.
If you want to pay through Net Banking, either select your bank from the ones visible, or select your bank from the Other Banks drop-down list.
If you are paying through a wallet, select your wallet from the available options
Step 9.
Click on the Make Payment button. Follow the respective procedure for the payment options, and complete the transaction of bill payment.
On successful completion of the payment, you will receive the following confirmation screen:
You will receive an email from your email provider, confirming that the email accounts have been configured and are ready to use.
Configuring the email account
Based on from where your domain name was purchased, some changes would have to be made in your domain provider’s settings.
- In case you purchased the domain name from Jd Omni, you needn’t make any changes. Jd Omni will do them itself.
- In case you purchased the domain name from a third-party provider, you would have to make some changes in your domain provider’s settings. Head over to the Configuring DNS Records section for help.
2. Configuring DNS
Now that you have purchased your business email, you are required to make some changes to your domain. For this first you need to Obtain DNS settings and then configure settings on Domain Providers.
2.1 Obtaining DNS Settings
Once the bussiness emails are purchased, you need to obtain the DNS settings.
Step 1.
Login to the email control panel by clicking on Email under settings in the left side menu.
Following page opens up:
Step 2.
On the top menu, hover on Manage Orders and click on List/Search Orders
Step 3.
On clicking the List/Search orders,list of all your domain names will be shown.Click on your domain name
Step 4.
Once the page opens,scroll down to find the bussiness email section.
Step 5.
Then click on the Manage Email Accounts.
Step 6.
On the top menu, hover on Mail and click on the DNS Configuration.
Step 7.
On clicking DNS Configuration, DNS Configuartion page opens up.
You need these records for configuring settings on domain providers.
NOTE
The MX records, CNAME records and TTL records will be different for each accounts.
2.2 Configuring settings on Domain Providers Website
Now that you have obtained DNS settings, now you also need to configure settings on the domain providers website.
Is your domain booked through Jd Omni?
In case you had booked your domain name through Jd Omni, you need’t configure any settings, and can skip this section.
The steps to configure your DNS records have been listed below for the two major domain providers:
2.2.1 Configuring DNS records for BigRock
In case you already have an existing domain with BigRock, you would have to make a few changes in the DNS settings to correctly redirect the emails.
You would first need to access your DNS settings, delete any existing MX records present, and then add MX records.
Along with the MX records you also need to add CNAME records and TXT records.
2.2.1.1 Accessing your DNS settings
To access your DNS settings, you will have to first go to your domain provider’s website, and log into your account.
Step 1.
Enter www.bigrock.in in your browser, and click on the My Account button from the top right corner.
Step 2.
Enter your registered email address and password and click on the Login button.
Step 3.
From the List of Orders, click on the domain name of your shop.
Step 4.
Scroll down to the DNS Management section, and click on the Manage DNS link.
2.2.1.2 Delete existing records
Once you have clicked on the Manage DNS button for your domain, you would need to delete any MX records already present for your domain name.
Step 1.
From the available options present at the top, click on the MX Records button.
Step 2.
Click on the first domain name displayed.
Step 3.
In the new screen that opens up, click on the Delete Record button.
NOTE
Follow these steps for all MX Records present for your domain name, until there are no records present.
2.2.1.3 Assigning MX Records
For emails to correctly reach you, you would have to direct each of them to the correct email server. For this, you would need to add the following DNS Records.
NOTE: For illustration purpose, we will describe the steps for the first entry from the MX records. Once completed, please continue the steps for the remaining two entries of the MX records.
Once you have clicked on the Manage DNS button for your domain, click on the MX Records button.
Step 2.
Click on the Add MX Record button in the List of MX Records.
Step 3.
Fill the MX records that you obtained from DNS Configuration page.
Once filled, the page should look as follows:
Click on the Add Record button to add the MX Record.
Once done, your List of MX Records section will look something like this:
This completes your MX Record configuration. Your email will be ready to use in a period of 4 hours. All emails sent to the purchased email addresses will be directed to the appropriate mail server, and hence to you.
2.2.1.4 Assinging CNAME Records
Step 1.
Once you have clicked on the Manage DNS button for your domain, click on the CNAME Records button.
Step 2.
Click on the Add CNAME Record button in the List of CNAME Records.
Step 3.
Add the CNAME records from DNS Configuration page.
Once the fields are entered click on the Add Record button.
Once completed, please continue the steps for the remaining entries of the CNAME records.
2.2.1.5 Assigning TXT Records
Step 1.
Once you have clicked on the Manage DNS button for your domain, click on the TXT Records button.
Step 2.
Click on the Add TXT Record button in the List of TXT Records.
Step 3.
Fill the TXT records that you obtained from DNS Configuration page.
Once the fields are entered click on the Add Record button.
Once completed, please continue the steps for the remaining two entries of the TXT records.
2.2.2 Configuring DNS records for GoDaddy
In case you already have an existing domain with GoDaddy, you would have to make a few changes in the DNS settings to to correctly redirect the emails.
You would first need to access your DNS settings, delete any existing MX records present, and then add MX records.
Along with the MX records you also need to enter CNAME records and TXT records.
2.2.2.1 Accessing your DNS settings
To access your DNS settings, you will have to first go to your domain provider’s website, and log into your account.
Enter www.in.godaddy.com in your browser, and click on the Sign In button from the top right corner.
Step 2.
Enter your login ID and password and click on the Login button.
Step 4.
On successful login, navigate to the MY PRODUCTS :
The MY PRODUCTS page opens up as follows:
Step 5.
In the DOMAINS section, click on the Manage button.
Step 6.
A page with all of your domains will now be visible on the new page.
Step 7.
Click on the icon and select the Manage DNS option for your store’s domain.
Step 8.
The DNS MANAGEMENT page opens up and looks as follows.
2.2.2.2 Deleting existing records
Once you are in the DNS Management section (as listed in Accessing your DNS settings), you would need to delete any MX records already present for your domain name.
Step 1.
Scroll down to any MX records present
Step 2.
For the first record, click on the icon from the right corner of the record.
Step 3.
Once the record opens up, click on the icon to delete the record.
In the confirmation modal that opens, click on the Delete option .
NOTE
Follow these steps for all records present for your domain name, until there are no records present.
2.2.2.3 Assigning MX records
For emails to correctly reach you, you would have to direct each of them to the correct email server. For this, you would need to add the following MX Records.

Scroll down to the end of the Records section, and click on the ADD option.

In the modal that appears, click on the down arrow for the Type option.
Step 3.
From the list of options, select the MX option.
Step 4.
Fill the records you obtained from DNS Configuration page.
Once done, click on the SAVE button.
Click on the ADD button to add the remaining MX Records.
Once done, your List of MX Records section will look something like this:
This completes your MX Record configuration. Your email will be ready to use in a period of 4 hours. All emails sent to the purchased email addresses will be directed to the appropriate mail server, and hence to you.
2.2.2.4 Assiging CNAME Records
Step 1.
Scroll down to the end of the Records section, and click on the ADD option.
Step 2.
In the modal that appears, click on the down arrow for the Type option.
Step 3.
From the list of options, select the CNAME option.Step 4.
Once you select CNAME, following fields appear. Step 5.
Fill the CNAME records that you obtained from the DNS Configuration page.
Step 6.
Once all the fields are filled click on the Save button below.
Once completed, please continue the steps for the remaining two entries of the CNAME records.
2.2.2.5 Assigning TXT Records
Step 1.
Scroll down to the end of the Records section, and click on the ADD option.
Step 2.
In the modal that appears, click on the down arrow for the Type option.Step 3.
From the list of options, select the TXT option.Step 4.
Once you select TXT, following fields appear.Step 5.
Fill the TXT records that you obtained from the DNS Configuration page.
Step 6.
Once all the fields are filled click on the Save button below.
Once completed, please continue the steps for the remaining two entries of the TXT records.
The records will be displayed as follows
Check in the period of 24hours if the record status is marked as valid.If its marked as invalid please recheck the entered details.
2.2.3 Configuring Domain for Net4
In case you already have an existing domain with Net4, you would have to make a few changes in the DNS settings to correctly redirect the emails.
Accessing your DNS settings
To access your DNS settings, you will have to first go to your domain provider’s website, and log into your account.
Step 1.
Enter www.net4.com in your browser, and click on the Login/Sign up button from the top right corner.
Step 2.
Enter your registered email address/CRN ID and password and click on the Login button.
Step 3.
In My Orders section click on the domain name you wish to configure.
Step 4.
In Manage My Services page click DNS Setting.
Step 5.
In DNS setting page scroll down and change the TTL to 7200 and click Modify.
Step 6.
Change both a record IP to 14.142.191.1 & Save Changes.
